Although summer is winding down, brat style is holding firm. On August 31, Emily Ratajkowski made a bold fashion statement in an apple green gown from Tom Ford’s final Gucci collection at the Venice Film Festival. The striking color and neckline exuded a brat-inspired aesthetic.

The Legacy of Tom Ford’s Gucci

Ford’s time as creative director of Gucci from 1994 to 2004 remains both highly coveted and controversial. His daring designs and provocative ad campaigns, such as the infamous pubic hair campaign, were ahead of their time. The G-string trend, a standout from Ford’s collections, continues to inspire, with many A-list celebrities showcasing his work in recent years. Kim Kardashian and Bella Hadid are among those who have reignited interest in Ford’s archives, bringing his iconic designs back into the spotlight.

Emily’s Venice Red Carpet Look

For the Venice Film Festival premiere of Campo di Battaglia (Battlefield), Ratajkowski chose a piece from Gucci’s autumn/winter 2004 ready-to-wear collection. The gown, made with a mix of sheer, ruched fabric and a mermaid-style silk skirt, created a striking silhouette. The look was completed with a skin-baring triangular cut-out in the back, adding an edgy twist to the glamorous ensemble.

Bedazzled Accessories and Glamorous Beauty

Ratajkowski didn’t hold back on accessories, opting for diamond-encrusted chandelier earrings and rings from Italian jeweler Pasquale Bruni. Her beauty look was equally dazzling, with glittery pink eye shadow and matching lip gloss. She added a modern touch to her hairstyle, trading her usual center part for a chic side-parted lob styled in loose waves.
