Kanye West has once again stirred controversy with the release of his new song, Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine, featuring his daughter North West, Christian “King” Combs, and, reportedly, Sean “Diddy” Combs—who remains behind bars awaiting trial.

A Prison Call Sets the Tone

The track opens with what appears to be a recorded phone conversation between West and Combs, where Combs expresses gratitude for West’s support. The song blends West’s signature beats with a hook sung by Jasmine Williams and contributions from North and Christian Combs.

 Kim Kardashian’s Legal Objections

According to TMZ, Kim Kardashian attempted to block the song’s release through legal action, though West circumvented this by debuting it on X (formerly Twitter). The platform’s unclear legal framework under Elon Musk’s ownership may complicate any efforts to take the track down.

Sampling and Copyright Concerns

The song samples Money Power Respect by The Lox, along with a vocal snippet from Lil’ Kim. While West has a history of using unapproved samples, legal hurdles could arise, as publishing rights were reassigned by Combs in 2023. The status of these rights remains uncertain, adding another layer of controversy.

Representatives for West and Combs have yet to comment, while Kardashian has not publicly responded.
