Thai Embassy Brings Aid and Hope to Underprivileged Students in Dhaka

Sarakhon Report

In a heartfelt effort to support education in Bangladesh, the Royal Thai Embassy in Dhaka, along with Team Thailand officials and their families, organized a donation event at Manobayon Primary School on 29 July 2025. The initiative was part of the Royal Thai Volunteer Project, commemorating the birthday of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua of Thailand.

A Community Effort for Education

The embassy’s team donated essential educational supplies such as notebooks, books, whiteboards, and a document printer. Basic necessities including electric fans, rice, milk cartons, cooking oil, and instant noodles were also provided. These items were contributed by Thai companies operating in Bangladesh—Bentech Chemical, Siam City Cement, and Thai President Foods—as well as members of the Thai community.

Supporting a School with Big Dreams

Manobayon Primary School, a charitable institution in Dhaka, serves underprivileged children from Grade 1 to Grade 5. The school often struggles to provide even the most basic classroom materials and meals for students. It also runs a morning meal program for children in the surrounding neighborhood, ensuring they start the day with food in their stomachs.

Royal Thai Volunteer Project: A Legacy of Compassion

The donation drive was held in honor of King Vajiralongkorn’s birthday on 28 July 2025. The Royal Thai Volunteer Project was established by the King to honor the legacies of King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great and Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, who devoted their lives to public welfare. This project extends that vision by reaching across borders to uplift lives.
