Parambrata’s Dhaka Visit for ‘Shesher Kobita’ Photo Story

West Bengal actor Parambrata recently visited Dhaka for a unique project: a photo story adaptation of Rabindranath Tagore’s renowned poetic novel, ‘Shesher Kobita’. This research-driven creation features Parambrata as the main character, with Bangladeshi actress Dr. Shreya Sen in a key role, and young actor Sashwata Dutta adding to the stellar cast. Architect Fauzia Jahan spearheaded and photographed the project, aiming to inspire the younger generation to explore literature through visual storytelling.

Exhibition and Launch Event

The photo story was unveiled on Friday at 6 PM in the auditorium of the National Academy of Fine and Performing Arts. The launch event featured Dr. Dipu Moni, Minister of Social Welfare, as the chief guest. Other notable attendees included MP Arma Dutta and Dr. Ashish Kumar Chakraborty of the Bangladesh Awami League. Speakers at the event urged young people to engage in culturally enriching activities beyond social media, promoting literary engagement through innovative projects like this.

Key Personalities and Their Insights

The event was presided over by Dhaka-10 MP and acclaimed actor Ferdous Ahmed. Parambrata expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “This is the first time such an aesthetic work has been done with still images. I hope everyone will like it.” Dr. Shreya, who has a background in both medicine and cultural activities, added, “I have worked on Rabindranath Tagore’s pieces before, and this project was an exciting opportunity. I hope the audience will appreciate it.”

Cultural Impact

The project’s team hopes that this photo story will rekindle the habit of reading among the audience. The event featured music directed by renowned musician Fouad Naser Babu and was hosted by presenter Debashish Biswas. Channel I served as the media partner, ensuring broad coverage of the event.
