Celebrating World Music Day: A Night of Harmony at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy

In honor of World Music Day, the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy organized a spectacular event at the National Theatre Hall. The evening commenced with a captivating orchestral rendition of “Sunflower” by 11 talented instrumentalists. This was followed by an array of performances from the academy’s artists, featuring Rupsa, Mim, Himadri, Hirak, Barnali, Sushmita, Suchitra, and Shawon.

The highlight of the night was a mesmerizing joint performance by renowned artists such as Anupama Mukti, Pantha Kanai, Sabbir, and many others. They delivered a stirring rendition of the patriotic song “Dhono Dhanne Pushpe Bhora Amader Ei Basundhara” along with the modern classic “Abar Elo Je Shondha.”

Gratitude and Joy Expressed by Organizers and Artists

Liaquat Ali Lucky, the Director General of Shilpakala Academy, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved, praising the event’s success and the artists’ dedication. He commended the efforts of the academy’s team for orchestrating such a flawless celebration.

Artists shared their joy and appreciation for the event. Anupama Mukti expressed, “Participating in such events brings immense joy. We are always eager to join at the invitation of Soma Apa and Shamima Apa.” Rajib highlighted the sincerity in their performances, while Jhilick and Rashed cherished the camaraderie and collective joy of the occasion.

Cultural Melodies: A Multilingual Performance

Adding to the event’s diversity, the Dhaka Cultural Group, under the musical direction of Yasmin Ali, performed songs in seven foreign languages, showcasing a beautiful blend of global cultures.
