China on Sunday strongly condemned the United States for its military strikes on Iran, including the bombing of nuclear facilities under the safeguards of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). A spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry stated that such actions are a serious violation of international law and the principles and purposes of the UN Charter.

US Action Undermines UN Charter

According to China’s Foreign Ministry, “Such attacks have further escalated tensions in the Middle East and go against the principles of justice and international norms. The US’s unilateral move has severely threatened regional peace and stability.”

The spokesperson added, “China calls for a peaceful resolution through dialogue and negotiation. We urge all parties involved—particularly Israel—to declare an immediate ceasefire, ensure the protection of civilians, and resume diplomatic efforts. China stands ready to work with the international community to uphold justice and restore peace in the Middle East.”

Strikes on Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan

US President Donald Trump announced that “precision strikes” had been carried out on Iran’s nuclear sites in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. The US claims the attacks aimed to slow Iran’s nuclear program.

However, China has raised concerns about the effectiveness and legitimacy of these actions.

Chinese Scholar’s Comment: “An Abrupt Leap from Across the Atlantic”

Li Zixin, an assistant research fellow at the China Institute of International Studies, told the Global Times that the true impact of the operation remains uncertain. “The strikes may not have been sufficient to completely destroy Iran’s underground nuclear facilities,” he said.

Li also warned that the US attack would not only inflame regional tensions but also damage international efforts toward nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation.

Global Voices: China’s Position on the World Stage

Amid widespread international reactions, China has reiterated its commitment to dialogue over confrontation. It emphasized that peace, not provocation, is the path forward.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry reaffirmed its stance that solutions should comply with international law and respect the neutrality of global institutions like the IAEA. Beijing has called for a multilateral diplomatic framework involving regional powers and the United Nations to de-escalate the crisis.

Conclusion: A Firm Stand for Peace

By denouncing unilateral military action, China is sending a clear message to the global community: “bombs cannot bring peace, diplomacy must.”

China’s call for de-escalation stands as a vital reminder in a time of renewed violence and uncertainty across the Middle East.
