Dhaka Airport Arrest: 1,000 Yaba Pills Concealed in Passenger’s Stomach

Airport Armed Police Battalion (APBn) arrested a 32-year-old man at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport after an X-ray revealed 20 tape-wrapped capsules in his abdomen containing a total of 1,000 yaba tablets. The suspect, identified as Md Raju Mollah, had arrived on a domestic flight from Cox’s Bazar and was detained near the airport’s Balaka Bhaban following a tip-off.
Tip-off Leads to Detention
APBn officers intercepted the passenger shortly after arrival and brought him in for questioning. He admitted to carrying narcotics internally, according to officials, and was immediately placed under medical supervision.
X-Ray, Recovery, and Case Filed
An airport medical unit X-ray showed 20 oval objects in his abdomen. He was transferred to Kurmitola General Hospital, where doctors helped him expel the capsules under supervision. Authorities said the recovered packets contained 1,000 yaba pills. A case has been filed at Airport Police Station under the Narcotics Control Act, 2018, and the investigation is ongoing.
