Global Recognition for Client Protection: BRAC Microfinance Achieves ‘CPC Gold’
Pride of Bangladesh: BRAC Tops the World in Client Protection
BRAC Microfinance has reached the pinnacle of international recognition for its outstanding achievement in client protection and responsible financial services.
The organization has earned the prestigious ‘Client Protection Certification (CPC) Gold’, the highest global standard in this field.
As the only institution in Bangladesh to receive this honor, BRAC has set a remarkable milestone.
The certification was awarded by MicroFinanza Rating (MFR), an international organization that recognizes excellence in responsible financial services.
Official Announcement of the Recognition
The official announcement took place on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the BRAC Centre in Mohakhali, Dhaka.
The event was organized by BRAC, with the participation of government and private sector officials, development experts, and representatives from international partner organizations.
Standards of the CPC Gold Certification
According to the event organizers, the certification is awarded based on eight internationally recognized principles, which include:
- Providing client-friendly products and services
- Preventing over-indebtedness
- Ensuring transparency in financial operations
- Fair pricing
- Protecting client data privacy
- Establishing a proper grievance redress mechanism
Contribution of BRAC Microfinance
For five decades, BRAC’s Microfinance Program has been working to promote financial inclusion in Bangladesh.
The program has now reached over 40 million people, of whom 90% are women.
Through this initiative, millions of small entrepreneurs, farmers, and women have become self-reliant, bringing positive change to their lives.

The event’s chief guest was Professor Dr. Mohammad Helal Uddin, Executive Vice Chairman of the Microcredit Regulatory Authority (MRA).
Md. Saeed Kutub, Additional Secretary of the Financial Institutions Division, Ministry of Finance, attended as the special guest.
Other speakers included Asif Saleh, Executive Director of BRAC, and Orinjay Dhar, Senior Director of the BRAC Microfinance Program.
Second-Time Achievement
This marks the second time BRAC Microfinance has received the CPC Gold Certification.
The institution first earned this international recognition in 2016.
As the only organization in Bangladesh to achieve this honor, BRAC’s success stands as a historic milestone for the country’s microfinance sector.

Today, BRAC Microfinance serves over 14 million clients, offering them safe, fair, and dignified financial services.
This global recognition demonstrates that BRAC has emerged as a world leader in responsible microfinance.
