Unidentified Dead Body Found on Road in Dhaka
An unidentified young man was found dead on a roadside footpath in Dhaka’s Kuril Bishwaroad area on Monday morning, triggering concern among local residents and prompting a police investigation.
According to police, the body was discovered around 10:45 am on a footpath behind the BRTA office at Kuril Bishwaroad. Passersby noticed the young man lying unconscious and rushed him to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Doctors on duty examined him and declared him dead upon arrival.
Inspector Md Faruk, in charge of the police camp at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said the deceased was believed to be over 20 years old. As his identity could not be immediately confirmed, he has been listed as unidentified. The body has been kept at the hospital morgue for preservation.
Police said the matter has been reported to the concerned police station. Preliminary suspicion suggests the death may have occurred due to a road accident, though the exact cause is yet to be determined.
Law enforcement agencies from the Kuril and Khilkhet police stations have launched an investigation. Efforts are underway to identify the deceased by reviewing CCTV footage from nearby areas and speaking with witnesses.
Police officials said the exact cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem examination report is received.
