Kuwait Lifts Ban on Meat and Egg Imports from Bangladesh

Sarakhon Report

Kuwait has lifted its long-standing ban on the import of frozen poultry meat, meat products, and eggs from Bangladesh, reopening an important Gulf market for the country’s livestock sector.

The Bangladesh Embassy in Kuwait confirmed the development on Thursday, saying the Kuwaiti authorities had withdrawn previous restrictions imposed on Bangladeshi poultry and egg products.

The ban had earlier been introduced over health and quality concerns. Bangladeshi exporters and industry stakeholders say significant improvements have since been made in production standards, processing facilities, and regulatory compliance.

Boost for Poultry Exports

With the restriction lifted, exporters expect renewed demand from both commercial buyers and the Bangladeshi expatriate community in Kuwait. The decision is also expected to encourage fresh investment in Bangladesh’s poultry and agro-processing industries.

Trade analysts view the move as a positive signal for broader Bangladesh–Kuwait economic relations, with potential spillover effects into other Gulf markets.
