US Trade Officials Hold Virtual Meeting with BNP’s Tarique Rahman
Senior officials from the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) have held a virtual meeting with Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) acting chairman Tarique Rahman to discuss trade and tariff issues.
The meeting took place online and focused on Bangladesh’s tariff arrangements and the future of bilateral trade cooperation. Tarique Rahman joined the discussion from his residence, accompanied by BNP foreign affairs adviser Humaiun Kabir.
Trade Engagement Discussed
The US delegation was led by USTR chief Jamieson Greer, along with senior officials responsible for South and Central Asia trade policy.
Sources said the discussion emphasized strengthening trade engagement and exploring areas of mutual economic interest. The meeting was described as part of routine trade-related dialogue rather than a political engagement tied to any specific US administration.
