Lisa, the global K-pop sensation from BLACKPINK, has released her new single, “Moonlit Floor,” on October 4, 2024. The song has been generating excitement for its interpolation of Sixpence None the Richer’s 1997 classic “Kiss Me.” Lisa adds a fresh, dance-pop twist to the nostalgic hit, swapping iconic lyrics like “Kiss me beneath the milky twilight” for “Kiss me, under the Paris twilight.”
The track is filled with romantic imagery, with Lisa singing about a “green-eyed French boy,” further fueling speculation about her rumored relationship with Frédéric Arnault, the CEO of Tag Heuer. However, no official confirmation has been made regarding the relationship.
“Moonlit Floor” comes on the heels of Lisa’s earlier 2024 releases, including “ROCKSTAR” and her collaboration with Rosalía on “New Woman.” Fans got their first taste of the track during her live performance at the Global Citizen Festival in September, where the song was met with enthusiastic response.
A Solo Career on the Rise
Since her solo debut in 2021 with “Lalisa” and “Money,” Lisa has made her mark as both a solo artist and a member of BLACKPINK. Balancing her K-pop group activities with her individual music career, Lisa continues to captivate audiences around the world with her unique style and evolving sound. Her new single marks another chapter in her solo journey, as she redefines classic hits and makes them her own.
