Pakistan’s military has successfully attacked Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan, according to a report by The New York Times, based on satellite imagery.

The report said Pakistan carried out the attack as part of an ongoing operation against the Afghan Taliban. Satellite images released after the attack showed damage to several key installations at the base.

Four residents of the Bagram area said they heard at least two explosions inside the base shortly after 6 a.m. Sunday. Three of them also said they could hear at least one warplane in the sky during the explosions.

Satellite images show destruction
Satellite images show that at least one aircraft hangar and two large warehouses in the northern part of the airbase have been completely destroyed. These structures are believed to have been used to store and maintain military equipment.
