Dhaka, August 23, 2024 – Jatiya Party Chairman, Golam Mohammad Quader, has urged the people of Bangladesh to extend their support to those affected by the recent floods. During a meeting at the party’s Banani office, where a relief fund was being established, Quader emphasized the importance of standing by fellow citizens in times of disaster. He assured that the Jatiya Party will continue to assist in both immediate relief and long-term rehabilitation efforts for the flood-affected communities.
Condemnation of India’s Actions
During the same event, Jatiya Party General Secretary, Md. Mujibul Haque Chunnu, criticized India for releasing dam waters without prior warning, which led to severe flooding in Bangladesh. He condemned the Indian government’s actions, stressing the need for adherence to international laws that mandate advance notice to downstream countries.
Leaders Unite for Relief Efforts
The meeting was attended by prominent Jatiya Party leaders, including Co-Chairman ABM Ruhul Amin Howlader and several Presidium members. They collectively expressed their commitment to supporting the flood victims and called for government cooperation in relief efforts.
