Renowned for his melodious voice, Rashed has been a beloved name in Bangladesh’s music industry for two decades. His journey began with the heartfelt song Ami Khujhechi Tomay Mago, which remains a timeless favorite, especially during Mother’s Day celebrations. However, his musical career took off even before his Close Up 1 fame, as he won the “Best Vocal” title in the 2003 Benson & Hedges reality show. His first original song, Ei Chand, debuted during this competition but was officially released after several other original tracks.

Rashed’s career breakthrough came in 2005 during the Close Up 1: Tomakei Khujche Bangladesh competition, where his performance of Ami Khujhechi Tomay Mago, penned by Asif Iqbal and composed by Shawkat Ali Emon, gained immense popularity. Following his success, he embarked on a professional journey filled with stage shows and widespread recognition.

Hailing from Chattogram, Rashed is known for his humility and dedication to his craft. Over the years, Bangladesh Betar has aired more than 100 of his original songs, with numerous others broadcast on BTV. His first solo album, Feriwala, was a massive success, featuring lyrics by notable writers like Asif Iqbal and music by Nakib Khan. His second album, Sona Bondhe, also received acclaim, further solidifying his position in the industry.
Recent Releases and Legacy
Rashed continues to make his mark with new songs. This month, he released three tracks: Dola (lyrics by Sheikh Nazrul, composed by Fidel Naim), Biday (lyrics by Antoraloy Jahangir, composed by Shan Sayek), and Nilina Khobor (lyrics by NI Bulbul, composed by Rokon Emon). He also hinted at several upcoming original releases. Reflecting on his two-decade-long career, Rashed expressed gratitude to his mentors, collaborators, and fans, saying, “It’s been an incredible journey. The love and guidance I’ve received from legendary musicians and the unwavering support of my audience mean everything to me.”
