Abul Khair Group Honors Six Changemakers with ‘M-Rise Hero’ Award

One of the country’s leading industrial conglomerates, Abul Khair Group, has honored six exceptional individuals with the ‘M-Rise Hero’ award for their relentless efforts in bringing positive change to society quietly and selflessly. The awards were presented at the ‘M-Rise Gala Night’ held at the InterContinental Hotel in the capital.

The grand event, held on May 14, featured documentary screenings based on the lives of the award recipients, hero reveal segments, and cultural performances. Popular actor Shakib Khan presented honorary crests to the winners. Sheikh Shabab Ahmed, Group Head of Corporate Affairs and Legal at Abul Khair Group, along with senior officials of the company, was also present at the event.

At the inaugural edition of ‘M-Rise,’ six individuals were recognized for their contributions to various social initiatives. Among them was technology innovator Joy Barua Lablu from Chattogram, who has opened new possibilities for many people’s lives by developing low-cost bionic hands. Md. Rostom Ali from Cox’s Bazar has long been providing shelter and support to neglected elderly people and orphaned children through the ‘Ma-Baba Foundation.’

Animal welfare activist Md. Abdul Kaiyum from Dhaka received recognition for his dedicated service to stray animals. Meanwhile, Md. Rizwan from Chattogram has been supporting underprivileged children through his “Education for One Taka” initiative. Mariam from Cox’s Bazar has been working to improve the economic empowerment of coastal women through seaweed farming. In addition, Prosenjit Kumar Saha has continued working on education, skill development, and health awareness through the initiative ‘Ucchash.’

Recognition of Humanitarian Efforts

Several award recipients shared their feelings after receiving the honor. Technology innovator Joy Barua Lablu said he believes technology should be used to make human life easier and better. The joy of bringing smiles to people’s faces is what inspires him to continue his work.
