Youth Develop Negotiation Skills Through U.S. Embassy Training Program

A special training program aimed at enhancing the communication, leadership, and negotiation skills of young people in Bangladesh has concluded in Dhaka. Organized by the U.S. Embassy, the initiative brought together young participants from different parts of the country to receive training on modern negotiation techniques and leadership development.

The closing ceremony was held at Six Seasons Hotel in Gulshan, Dhaka, and was attended by U.S. Ambassador Brent T. Christensen. During the event, he recognized the achievements of the newly trained young participants and praised the skills they had acquired through the program.

A total of 60 young people took part in the training, all of whom were former students of the Access English Program. Participants joined the program from Dhaka, Chattogram, and Sylhet. The four-day training workshop was supported by U.S. English Language Specialist Joanne Munisteri.

Focus on Negotiation and Leadership Development

The program, titled “The Art of the Deal: American Excellence in Negotiation Skills,” was designed to strengthen participants’ abilities in effective communication, constructive dialogue, and negotiation. Training sessions covered techniques for managing discussions, addressing differences of opinion, developing leadership qualities, and achieving successful agreements.

As part of the program, participants explored principles and ideas discussed in “The Art of the Deal,” a book written by U.S. President Donald Trump. The training also focused on American approaches to negotiation, leadership development, and building mutual understanding.

Supporting Youth Skill Development

According to the organizers, programs like this can play an important role in preparing young people for future leadership roles. Participants gained practical experience in resolving real-life challenges through negotiation, working collaboratively in teams, and establishing effective communication.

The closing ceremony highlighted the participants’ accomplishments and encouraged them to apply these skills in both their personal and professional lives. Organizers expressed hope that the trained youth would demonstrate positive leadership within their communities and workplaces while promoting a culture of constructive dialogue.

The U.S. Embassy’s initiative is being viewed as an important step toward strengthening youth capabilities and helping young Bangladeshis acquire internationally recognized skills.
