This week, Selena Gomez officially became a billionaire, thanks to the remarkable success of her Rare Beauty brand, alongside her other lucrative ventures. While Gomez has hit several major career milestones over the years, this achievement stands out as a significant one.
Gomez took the news in stride, sharing a laid-back selfie from her bed on Instagram Stories. Wearing a white T-shirt and pink-framed glasses, she posted the photo on Friday night without any caption.
Rare Beauty’s Rapid Growth
Launched in 2020, Rare Beauty has been a huge hit in the beauty industry. Last year, Gomez explained that she wanted Rare Beauty to be more than just a product line with her name on it. “I really tried to create a product that goes beyond just my name. I wanted the products to be great, and to remind people that makeup should be fun,” she said.
Gomez also emphasized that Rare Beauty aims to foster inclusivity and mental well-being, welcoming people of all ages, genders, races, and backgrounds.
Beyond Beauty: Selena’s Other Ventures
Selena’s success doesn’t stop at beauty. She has lucrative endorsement deals with major brands like Louis Vuitton, Coach, and Puma. On top of that, her acting roles, including Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place and Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building, continue to bolster her wealth. Music also remains a major part of her career, although she seems to be focusing more on acting at the moment.
“Acting has always been my passion,” she shared with The Hollywood Reporter after being nominated for an Emmy for Only Murders in the Building. “There’s still so much I want to achieve, and it excites me.”
The Future of Gomez’s Empire
As Gomez continues to grow her empire, both in business and entertainment, she shows no signs of slowing down. Rare Beauty’s success is just one piece of her thriving career.
