Malaika, younger sister of renowned Bangladeshi model and actress Mehzabien Chowdhury, has taken her first step into the world of acting. Previously making her debut as a model in an advertisement directed by Adnan Al Rajib, Malaika has now embraced the acting arena. Her debut role comes in the drama Shondhikkhon, written and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Mostofa Kamal Raj, with a storyline crafted by none other than her sister, Mehzabien.

The drama has already completed its shooting at various locations, including Uttara, Dhaka. Malaika stars alongside popular actor Farhan Ahmed Jovan, who has provided immense support to bring her character, Ira, to life. Director Mostofa Kamal Raj and the entire team are highly optimistic about the project, with Raj stating, “Jovan is a proven actor. He has done exceptional work in my previous projects, and audiences have always been impressed with his performances. Now, I’m pleased to introduce Malaika in this journey. Despite being new to acting, she has done an impressive job portraying her character.”

 A Promising Start for Malaika

As a newcomer, Malaika has shown great potential. Raj believes that if she continues acting, she will excel, given her strong expression and dialogue delivery. Co-actor Jovan echoed similar sentiments, stating that while it’s too early to judge her acting skills, her eagerness to learn is evident. “With time and experience, she’ll definitely improve,” he said.

Malaika herself is excited yet nervous about this new venture. “Acting is a completely new field for me, but Raj Bhai has been incredibly supportive, making it easy for me to perform. Jovan Bhai is also very cooperative,” she said. The drama team is hopeful that Shondhikkhon will resonate well with viewers and are excited to share the final product soon.
