Celebrated Bangladeshi filmmaker S A Haque Olik has recently completed the production of his latest short drama, *No Fireflies’ Glow*, set in the serene landscapes of his hometown, Jamalpur. Written by Mizanur Rahman Milon, the story has been adapted and directed by Olik himself. The drama features two rising stars, Zaher Alvee and Tasnuva Tisha, as the protagonists, Sumon and Jonaki.
A Unique Tale of Love
According to Olik, the drama revolves around a simple yet heartfelt love story presented with a distinctive style. “This is my first time working with Zaher Alvee and Tisha. Both of them performed exactly as I envisioned, bringing their roles to life with dedication and unique charm. The audience will appreciate their chemistry and nuanced performances,” Olik said. He added, “Many may wonder why it’s called *No Fireflies’ Glow* when fireflies are known for their light. To uncover the meaning, you’ll have to watch the drama.”
Family and Love Intertwined
Zaher Alvee noted that while the drama centers on love, it also weaves in elements of familial connections. “Olik bhai poured his heart into crafting this project. The story and his direction are remarkable. Working with Tisha, as always, was a pleasure, and we plan to collaborate on more projects in the future,” Alvee shared.
A Director’s Precision
Tisha praised Olik’s methodical and inspiring direction. “From my childhood, I’ve admired his dramas and films. As a senior director, he guided us meticulously, creating a comfortable environment and even teaching us before every scene. It was truly a memorable experience,” she said.
Coming Soon to a Satellite Channel
The drama, which also stars actors like Shamu Chowdhury, M A Salam, and Shawkat Shovon, is set to air soon on a satellite channel. Meanwhile, Alvee is currently working on a new serial directed by Sanjit Sarkar, and Tisha has recently had three of her new dramas released on YouTube.
