SD Rubel and Konal, two celebrated Bangladeshi musicians, first collaborated over a decade ago on the duet song Tumi Shoroter Megh, written by Krishno Das and composed by Rubel himself. Although recorded years ago, the song was released only recently. Now, Konal is making her mark in Rubel’s upcoming government-funded film, Nil Akashe Pakhi Ure.

The title track of the movie, also titled Nil Akashe Pakhi Ure, features Konal alongside SD Rubel. Recording for the song has been completed, and filming for the movie is set to begin on December 5 in the scenic locales of Bandarban.

Rubel expressed his admiration for Konal’s dedication and artistry, saying, “Konal’s singing has always impressed me. Despite her success with hits like O Priyotoma from Priyotoma and Megher Nouka Tumi from Prohelika, she remains grounded and focused. Her voice and dedication to this title track have left me optimistic about its success.”

In addition to directing the film, Rubel plays the lead role, emphasizing the personal significance of this project, which he believes surpasses his previous film, Briddhashrom. “This film’s music is turning out exceptionally well, and with talents like Konal and Anupama Mukti contributing, I am hopeful for its reception,” Rubel added.
