BLACKPINK’s Lisa to Make Historic Oscars Performance with ‘Born Again’

BLACKPINK’s Lisa is set to become the first K-pop artist to perform at the Oscars. She will take the stage at the 97th Academy Awards on March 2, 2025, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Lisa will perform her latest single, “Born Again,” alongside collaborators Doja Cat and RAYE. This performance marks a significant milestone, highlighting the global influence of K-pop.

“Born Again” was released on February 6, 2025, as part of Lisa’s upcoming debut solo album, “Alter Ego,” which is scheduled for release on February 28. The track, produced by RAYE and Andrew Wells, blends disco-pop elements and emphasizes themes of empowerment and personal rebirth. The accompanying music video, directed by Bardia Zeinali, portrays Lisa, Doja Cat, and RAYE as modern goddesses, symbolizing strength and transformation.

The 97th Academy Awards, hosted by Conan O’Brien, will feature a lineup of distinguished presenters, including past winners like Cillian Murphy, Emma Stone, Robert Downey Jr., and Da’Vine Joy Randolph. Notably, this year’s ceremony will deviate from tradition by not featuring live performances of the Best Original Song nominees.

Instead, the focus will be on special performances, such as the anticipated collaboration between Lisa, Doja Cat, and RAYE, as well as a “Wicked” performance by Ariana Grande and Cynthia ErivoFans eagerly await Lisa’s groundbreaking Oscars performance, which signifies a monumental achievement for K-pop’s global reach and Lisa’s flourishing solo career.
