Between April 3 and April 9, 2025, the Bangladesh Army, in coordination with other law enforcement agencies, conducted major joint operations across Dhaka and other regions. A total of 608 criminals were apprehended, including listed terrorists, robbers, drug dealers, gang members, and fugitives.
Weapons, Drugs, and Stolen Goods Seized
During the operations, security forces recovered 21 illegal firearms, 295 rounds of ammunition, narcotics, homemade weapons, stolen mobile phones, passports, counterfeit currency, foreign cash, and laptops. All detainees were handed over to local police stations for legal processing.
Army Ensures Smooth and Safe Eid Travel
To ensure a hassle-free Eid journey, the Army deployed patrol teams to major terminals and stations, prevented ticket black marketing, and managed traffic flow with alternate routes and parking zones. This helped thousands reach home safely and smoothly.
Protection of Businesses and Religious Events
In response to recent incidents of vandalism and looting, the Army ensured the security of key businesses and arrested those involved. It also cracked down on illegal polythene factories, removed unauthorized street vendors, and maintained security at Hindu religious festivals like Maha Ashtami, Punya Snan, and Basanti Puja.
Army Urges Public Vigilance
The Bangladesh Army reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining law and order nationwide and encouraged the public to report suspicious activities to the nearest army camp.
